What is Bethsaida?

Bethsaida is the third most frequently mentioned city in the New Testament. It is located at the North Sea of Galilee. Bethsaida was discovered in 1987 and excavated ever since by Dr. Rami Arav from UNO.

The finds: Bethsaida was founded as a capital city of Geshur, a biblical kingdom neighboring to the Kingdom of Israel. In the time of Jesus, the city was the birthplace of three disciples, Peter, Andrew and Philip. Jesus, the man of Galilee, frequented Bethsaida and preformed miracles there.
